Summary/Objective

The HR Manager position develops and administers all human resources programs and processes designed to attract, retain and motivate employees; plans and carries out policies relating to all phases of human resources activities.

Essential Functions:

New Hire Orientation

Manage pre-employment process is completed including, employment verification, background checks, drug screening and references checks for potential new hires.

Draft, review, and extend written offer letters.

Communicate with new employees the policies, procedures and company culture.

Ensure employee personnel files are complete for all current employees in compliance with State, Federal Labor & Employment Laws.

Maintain confidentiality of employee records and release authorized information regarding employment verification.

Process Personal Action Forms to ensure accuracy.

Oversee Payroll is processed & audit payroll on bi-weekly basis including PTO accruals and salary changes.

Benefits

Be knowledgeable of our benefits and help to answer employee questions regarding all benefits such as Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA, 401k.

Leaves of Absence

Interact with employees who inquire about Leaves of Absences to determine the type of leave of absence, including personal leave, medical leave, family leave, or intermittent leave of absence.

Employee Relations

Relay to management concerning employee relations, employee grievances and counseling employees in all related matters including, professional and personal matters confidentially.

Support department managers whenever employee relations are brought up to managers by conducting investigations and decide upon appropriate disciplinary actions or separations.

Terminations

Conduct exit interviews and process termination packets and separation documents.

Worker’s Compensation

Reviews and submit all Workmen’s Compensation reports for your location. Actively be involved in managing claims with the claims adjuster. Update OSHA logs with injuries.

Employee Commitment

File and maintain an interactive dialogue with management regarding personnel procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, for necessary documentation of personnel matters by supervisory staff relating to disciplinary actions, terminations and evaluations.

Create a positive environment through the company culture with the support of the executive team and employees within the company.

Employee File Management

Manage & keep track of paper trail for new hires, worker’s compensation, benefits, terminations, and PTO.

Responsible for processing all unemployment and disability claims for employees, completing all requests for information.

Review employee performance reviews to ensure that they are complete and satisfactory.

Education and Experience


  • A minimum of 5 years of human resources experience.
  • A minimum of two years’ human resources supervisory experience.
  • Labor Relations experience highly preferred
